HENRY COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION

May 19, 2007

1. Tim Schumm called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

2. Approval of Minutes: Eric Shank moved to approve the April 19, 2007 minutes. John Overmier seconded. Motion carried.

5. New Business:

A. MJM Subdivision Replat

Tim explained the proposed replat of the MJM Subdivision in Washington Township. It is proposed that the eastern 150 feet of lot 9 be combined with lot 10 and the remaining portion of lot 9 be combined with lot 8. John Overmier asked if the 150 feet of frontage meets township zoning. Tim Schumm indicated that it did not, but was told by Brad Meister, applicant, that the township does not get too concerned with lot frontages when the parcel is not proposed to be developed, as is the case for lot 10. It was concluded that if the township was acceptable with the proposal, so would the Planning Commission.

B. Preliminary Budget

Preliminary budgets will be due in the coming weeks. Tim Schumm suggested that this would be the time to request from the Commissioners the hiring of a new Planning Director. Tim Schumm will develop a proposed job description, compensation and budget for the next Planning Commission meeting for review and discussion. Once acceptable a recommendation will be sent to the Commissioners.

6. Closing Remarks

A. Open Forum:

Jon Lindsay indicated that in the State’s Budget Bill, verbiage has been added to rescind the current household sewage treatment system regulation. We will need to watch to see how things work out. The Budget Bill must be approved by June 30.

B. Date for Next Meeting:

The next Planning Commission meeting will be on June 21, 2007.
